After the birth of her child, Hayden spoke up about postpartum (post natal) depression and how badly it effected her.
This affects a surprising amount of new mothers and, in many cases, is not diagnosed. Instead it is put down to “hormones” and ignored.
She spoke out about how this is a real condition and just how badly it effects mothers at a vulnerable time in their lives. To Hayden it was “painful and really scary”.
Postpartum depression affects around 1 in 7 mothers and few will seek or receive any treatment. If you know someone who has just had a baby then it is always worth watching for signs of this condition and providing help.
